Equal Doesn't Always Mean the Same

Equal doesn't have to mean same.

Two things can be equal but very different.

Take men and women for an example.

Men and women are equal, yet they are not the same, they're very different.

You often hear people say Christianity and the Bible look down on women.

They say Christians hold women down.

All one need do is read God's Word to find that isn't true.

It is true in the Old Testament women were treated badly.

That was never God's plan.

In the New Testament men were treating their wives badly, leaving them for any reason.

Jesus told them to stop it.

He told them to love their wives, to take care of their wives, honor their vows and give their life if need be for their wives.

Remember in the beginning when God created man?

He said man needed a helper.

What does the word helper imply?

It implies there where things he couldn't get done on his own.

You see, Adam was created perfectly, just as the woman was, but he was created perfectly to do what he was created to do.

But he wasn't created to do it all.

So God knew he would need help.

A  woman was the answer, she couldn't do everything either but she could do what she was created to do.

Together they could do all that needed done.

It's still the same today.

We don't have to try to be alike to prove we are equal.

Equality is never questioned by God it is assumed by Him.

When we spend all our time trying to prove we are equal we're really just trying to promote ourselves.

We're already equal, different yes, but equal.

Don't waste your time trying to be the same or prove you are equal.

You don't have to.

Equality is a gift bestowed on us by God just like our differences are a gift.

As with any gift it's meant to be enjoyed.

So, don't get caught up in the age old useless chatter.

Know who you are and what you are worth and enjoy the gift of equality.
